happy NOVEMBER!
SURPRISE, here’s a photo update of our past 2 months in central america!
this is zoe international christian school. i spent our first 2 weeks in costa rica here with 2 of the teams on our squad. we taught english (and spanish lolz) and partnered with the church through leading youth group and community outreach!
this is team wildflowers 🙂 they have a lot of joy and ate a lot of fruit. they kinda felt just like my soul sisters.
this is a typical central american breakfast. rice and beans (or “gallo pinto”) with eggs and plantains. yummy.
me, lesley, clay, and heather. our leadership team minus nic!
for the second half of costa rica, lesley and i visited our all guys team in a beach town called puerto viejo.
lots of soccer,
and lots of cute caribbean kids 🙂
then we bussed to nicaragua, and i spent time with team adonai amor up north in the mountains. here they are teaching!
we often sorted beans. they were an integral part of every meal, whether you liked it or not.
our host taught us how to make local dishes almost every night!
the last couple weeks, i spent with a team working with a church that runs a feeding program for kids in the area.
they come to get a hot meal once a day.
and then played all the baseball with us!
it’s been a quick 2 months. hard, but beautiful.
now we’re preparing for our first squad debrief! and then it’s off to africa!
because of the current state of ethiopia due to political unrest, we are now going to RWANDA instead!
i’m expectant and excited, knowing Proverbs 16:9;
We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.
ways you can pray for the squad are for provision over all, for a restful, fruitful debrief, safe travels to africa, and growth as all desire to go deeper.
ways you can pray for me are for grace and strength to continue dying to my flesh, for more wisdom and discernment, and for His eyes, ears, thoughts in all circumstances and for all people.
i’m also still in need of just under $1,000 to be fully funded for the year!
you guys make this possible! let me know if you’d like to join me in what God is doing or if you’d like more information!
much love to all!
