Hi all!
It occurred to me this week that I should probably introduce you guys at home to my family here. They know a lot about you all, and I thought you might like to know a little about them too!
So welcome to Team Remnant: (Consider these your formal introductions.)
Meet Brian.
The team Asian. Brian is from South Korea. And then he’s from California. He’s not good at math, but he is good at skateboarding. Brian’s the voice of reason on our team. He is absolutely hilarious and he is passionately on fire for God. His wisdom and insight are out of this world. He’s a great conversationalist, super full of the Spirit, and he’s going to be an intense preacher one day.
This is Jayda.
The giggle monster. Jayda is always full of two things: sugar and joy. Jayda’s from Las Vegas and loves Taco Bell and video games. Jayda has grown like crazy over this past month and a half. This girl, who, at the beginning of September swore she’d never ever pray out loud, spoke her first God-given prophecy over Nikki last night. Way cool.
Which takes us to Nikki.
Nikki is the definition of joy. She is laughing approximately 88% of the time. The other 12%, she is probably drinking coke out of a glass bottle or writing in one of her many journals. Nikki’s laughter is infectious and she radiates Jesus everywhere she goes. Nikki is opened, honest, and never afraid to say what needs to be said. This girl owns and rides 16 horses in Washington, where she lives. She’s a natural in the kitchen and is the total mother of the team.
Say hello to Andrea.
Andrea is never not the cutest person ever. She exudes peace and calmness all over the place. She’s joyful, caring, and definitely gets the team prize for showering the most/best hygiene. Andrea is from Ohio. She’s responsible, accepting, and adventurous. She’s our team finance person, and one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met. She makes cool facial expressions and takes even cooler pictures.
And last but not least…Elliot.
Elliot is our team leader. He’s from Wisconsin. His feet smell really bad. But he loves people really well. Elliot is the most fatherly 18 year old that ever existed. He is super caring and super intentional. He can make any person feel like the most special person on the planet. He really likes his first aid kit and is really good at using it. Elliot has a big heart for discipleship and a gift for bringing out the best in people.
So there you have it. That’s my family. The people I hang out with, do ministry with, do life with. Every day. We live with the whole squad of 25 here in Honduras, but in Thailand and South Africa, it’ll be the 6 of us on our own. [Disclaimer: Teams can and probably will change at least a little when we head to Thailand. But for now, this is my family.] And I love them. The end!
Thanks for the pictures and info on your team family. I enjoyed reading about each of them. I’m sure that God put you all together for a reason and has great plans for you all. God bless you all!
Sounds like a great family Abbs! 🙂 So glad you have them and they have you!
