Hi, everybody!

I can’t believe it’s blog-posting time again already! This week FLEW by.

Here’s a recap:

  • Last Saturday we worked on the property. Picked up a lot of glass. Pulled a lot of weeds. And came up with a mural idea that we’ll be painting on the side of the house this upcoming week!
  • Sunday was our first “church on the streets.” The idea behind this is to take the Gospel message out of your average 1hour church service and into the real world, where people may not otherwise hear it. It was real. It was cool. It was real cool.
  • Monday here was “Teacher Appreciation Day.” Since my team’s ministry this week and last week has been teaching, we were treated on this day! The staff at our school took us out to a cute little village about an hour away, where we sat and worshiped in a field with them, and then got to explore the area. There were all kinds of cutesy little shops and restaraunts. It was lots of fun!
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, we taught. This week, my preschoolers were learning the letter C, so that’s what we spent most of our time on. Drawing C words. Tracing C words. Cutting C words. Coloring C words. Repeating C words. Fun stuff. The kids are adorable. They like to turn into monsters and chase one another around the room from time to time. As we all do.

In addition to that, I’ve been spending a lot of time with a super sweet 14 year old girl named Dania who has been spending an increasing amount of time on our property. She’s crazy shy and rather awkward. I love her to death. God’s been nudging me to invest in her, so I’ve been spendin’ a lot of my evenings just sittin’ by her, talkin’ to her, helpin’ her with her (very basic) English homework, etc. At the end of the night, when she looks me in the eyes with a sincere smile and a “Te amo mucho,” before she heads back to her shack of a home, I know it’s worth it.

I’ve begun to disciple one of the girls on my team as well. She’d never read any of the Bible before, and now I can’t get her to put it down! It’s so cool seeing her grow and getting to be a part of it! Humbles me beyond belief that God would wanna use ME for something like this.

Next week, my team’s on property duty! That means we’ll be doing landscaping, painting, cooking, and cleaning. In addition to, of course, spending time with the kids here and helping out Tony and Nidia in any way possible.

My team’s great. My squad’s great. The boys are great. Everything is great.

I’m learning how to be fully here.
And God is faithfully teaching me that He really is enough. (I haven’t missed home all week!)
Thank you for the prayers!
There is no such thing as too much of that.
I am so blessed.
I love you all very much!

Oh! And guess what! I learned how to upload photos onto here!
